THE ODYSSEY OF COMMANDANT COUSTEAU
JACQUES-YVES COUSTEAU was one of the most famous Frenchmen in the world. And his name still remains.
L’Odyssee, one of our large scale projects for 2015 with Costume Designer Carine SARFATI, focuses on the life of Commandant Cousteau between the 1950s and 1970s.
L’ODYSSEE is a biopic based on the non-fiction book Capitaine de La Calypso by Albert Falco (who was in the team of La Calypso) and Yves Paccalet. Lambert Wilson plays an-depth Cousteau, a man with a dark side. Beyond his dreams, he has to face confrontations with his family, Pierre Niney, Audrey Tautou and Laurent Lucas.
Carine SARFATI came to prepare L’Odyssée at La Compagnie knowing she would find what she was after. As a matter of fact, we had been working together the year before on La French.
As for Director Jerôme Salle, he became famous for the public when directing Anthony Zimmer in 2005 (Costumes: Carine Sarfati). A romantic thriller full of unexpected twists, the film was remade in 2010 under the title The Tourist, with Jonhnny Depp and Angelina Jolie but did not convince the critics and did not overshadow the original…
